England - Premier League

Arsene Wenger has called for a rethink among Premier League clubs after Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League before the quarter-final stage.

The Gunners became the last English side to exit the competition after they lost on away goals to Bayern Munich, who are 7/2 with bet365 to win the trophy. Manchester United were the only other Premier League outfit to reach the knockout stages, with Wenger saying: "If you think we had Manchester City and United, Chelsea and Arsenal all out by the quarter-final - it's a long time since that happened. "We have to take that into consideration in the way we think about the future of the Premier League. It's a massive disappointment for English football." The 1995-96 season was the last one which saw no English side reach the last eight of the Champions League, with at least one Premier League club having reached the final in seven of the last eight seasons.
