Vettel plays down points lead

Three-time defending champion Sebastian Vettel says that his lead in the Formula 1 drivers' standings is far from being a decisive one.

Vettel moved 36 points clear of the chasing pack with a victory at the Canadian Grand Prix, but the German does not expect the race for the title to be decided before the season draws to a close. He said after his first-ever win in Canada: "The championship is still long and I was in a different position last year at this time and was able to catch up at the end. "I think there are so many things that can happen at this stage of the championship, I'm happy to focus on the race, trying to win and the rest we will see later on if we are still in a strong position." Vettel has finished no lower than fourth place in any race so far this season, winning in Malaysia and Bahrain before his triumph in Montreal at the weekend and he is 4/9 with bet365 to be crowned world champion in 2013.
