Value Alert: Villa a big price to bag a Liverpool double

England - Premier League

With the Premier League taking precedence again this weekend, Christian Crowther scouts out some potential value...

The Value Finder lived up to its title in the last round of Premier League fixtures by flagging disparity between Betfair's price and one based purely on form to  indicate potential value in backing Everton to beat Manchester City at Goodison Park.

Punters who took note of the value alert and the fact that Everton represent City's bogey team - as referenced in this column - would have gone home happy after the 2 -0 Toffees' triumph.

Of course, exploiting the win to nil market would have increased any such satisfactory smirk into a fully-fledged smile.

So on to the Easter festivities and, more importantly, which top-flight games the widget has deciphered to be harbouring value.

Considering Reading have scored seven goals against Arsenal in two previous meetings - despite losing both - the new manager effect may entice some to have a  speculative punt on a Royals win at the Emirates.

After all, the value widget has calculated that backing the Reading victory at a whopping 14.5 could see punters running away with a full 9.2's worth of value and a handsome windfall should Nigel Adkins' troops pull it off.

Under 2.5 goals is also showing some potential for Manchester United's trip to the Stadium of Light, sounding out a 0.2 difference in the prices.

For a start, the case for the Unders is seriously bolstered by Sunderland's abysmal record of scoring against their illustrious visitors, which reads: one goal in  their last six encounters home and away, none coming at the Stadium of Light.

If you add to the mix the Black Cats' top striker, Steven Fletcher, being ruled out for the remainder of the season, then the case for the home side to register  shrinks even further.

If you were hovering over the Unders market then it may well be worth backing it @ 1.95 and eeking out some extra value.

However, resurgent Aston Villa's price of 5.0 to beat Liverpool, possibly claiming a handsome 2.16 worth of value, has to be the best looking bet of the look.

After all, the Villans put three past the Reds in their Anfield win and have just engineered successive league wins, whereas Liverpool just shipped another three down  at Southampton.
