Tigers to have Owls for tea
Hull should have few problems disposing of struggling Sheffield Wednesday, says Andy Tongue...
Hull v Sheffield Wednesday

The early evening televised match in the Championship looks like a comfortable win for the high-flying home side on paper and, though in this most unpredictable of leagues nothing is certain, this one should go with the form.
Hull
Steve Bruce's side were tipped up as ones to watch by our very own Mike Norman back in August and they've not disappointed. Having spent the early months of the season in and around the play-off spots, the Tigers made their move last month with five wins out of six to propel them up to second and mark them out as the most likely challengers to long-time leaders Cardiff. Their strength lies very much at the back, as you would expect from a side managed by the former Manchester United defender, and only Leicester, co-incidentally managed by another no-nonsense stopper Nigel Pearson, have conceded fewer goals. In attack they are well balanced with the likes of Sone Aluko, Robert Koren and Jay Simpson all chipping in with goals.
Sheffield Wednesday
A recent mini-revival came to an abrupt end with a 2-0 defeat at home to Burnley on New Years Day, which saw Dave Jones' men slip back into the bottom three. Goals have been a problem and they've not managed one in the last three games, which includes the goalless draw with League One MK Dons in the FA Cup last weekend. That puts a lot of pressure on them to keep things tight at the other end, which is a big ask with the likes of colourful gaffe prone Spanish centre-half Miguel Angel Llera about. With relegation rivals like Peterborough and Ipswich finding some form, things are currently looking a bit bleak for the Owls.
Match Odds
Hull's recent run has seen them concede just once in the five league games so it's no surprise to see them trading at 1.67 in the outright market. If you have the firepower to invest at those prices then I wouldn't try to talk you out of it but for those who prefer to look for more value the home side can be backed at 2.64 to be winning at both half-time/full-time.
Under/Over 2.5 goals
Just one of Wednesday's last eight games has featured more than 2.5 goals and Hull's successful run has been built around a very solid base at the back rather than a free-scoring approach. Leeds boss Neil Warnock said they were easily the best organised side in the division after the defeat at the KC Stadium at the end of last month and he expects the Tigers to be playing in the Premier League next season. On that basis, under 2.5 goals is the value at 2.02.
Best Bet: Back Under 2.5 Goals at 2.02
Other Recommended Bet: Back Hull/Hull at 2.64
