The Big Wednesday Multiple: Bayern to complete UCL task with ease

It's Wednesday, so that means it's that time of the week where Paul Robinson selects a home win, an away win, a match to go over 2.5 goals and a match to go under 2.5 goals. Here are his selections:

Bet 1: Bayern Munich (HOME) @ 1.4 (2/5) - Sky Sports Two at 19:45

Our quest for a home victory takes us to Germany as Bayern Munich look to qualify for the last eight of the Champions League in style. They beat Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates and I can't see them having any problems in the return leg.

Bayern are flying right now; 11 straight wins in all competitions and while it took a late goal to beat Fortuna Dusseldorf at the weekend, you always had the feeling that they'd get the job done in the end.

Jupp Heynckes' men were good value for the 3-1 scoreline in London a fortnight ago  and despite missing Frank Ribery through injury, it would be a huge surprise to expect anything other than more of the same, especially considering that they have won their last 10 Champions League games at home.

Arsenal have been dealt their own injury blows as both Jack Wilshere and Lukas Podolski have been ruled out by Arsene Wenger. Wojciech Szczęsny has also been left at home and I have little confidence in Lukasz Fabiański's ability to keep the Germans out.

Munich don't need to win to progress but I can't see them settling for a draw as they will want to make a statement to their rivals, especially now that Barcelona made it through at the expense of AC Milan last night.

Bet 2: Porto (AWAY) @ 2.7 (17/10) - Sky Sports Four at 19:45

We stay in the Champions League for our away victory as I quietly fancy Porto to extend their lead over Malaga and book their place in the quarter-finals.

Porto haven't lost a match since a 2-1 defeat to PSG in the group phase of this competition back at the start of December. Since then Vítor Pereira's side have played 16 times, won 12 and drawn four. They warmed up for this game with a 2-0 victory over Estoril and in-form striker Jackson Martinez netted once again - his 18th goal in 17 matches.

The Portuguese side were great value for their 1-0 win in the first leg at Estádio do Dragão as they dominated the stats - 62% possession and 17 shots to one. I appreciate that it will be a different game in Spain, but they have a huge experience advantage over their rivals and they really are a fantastic price at 2.7 (17/10).

Malaga have done exceptionally well to get this far as this is their first season in Europe's elite competition and they lost the likes of Santi Cazorla in the summer. They have a shot at qualifying again next year as they're currently fourth in La Liga, however they don't come into tonight's match in great form.

Manuel Pellegrini's men are without victory in four - losing two - and they've won just one of their last half dozen at home. I think they will put up a good fight but they will be vulnerable on the counter attack and I expect the streetwise Porto to pick them off and put the tie to bed.

Bet 3: Altrincham v Solihull (Over 2.5 goals) @ 1.57 (4/7)

We drop down a few levels or so for our goal fest as it's Conference North stuff with Altrincham hosting Solihull.

Altrincham are pushing for promotion; sixth in the table, just two points adrift of the play-off places. Victory this evening would see them move above Harrogate Town and while they'll have played a game more, it's points on the board that count.

With 69 scored and 40 conceded, their matches are averaging 3.63 goals per 90 minutes this term. An incredible 22 of their 30 fixtures have gone over 2.5, including five of their last seven at home.

Solihull are in 11th but are probably a few points short of challenging for promotion. They lost 3-0 at Halifax at the weekend but before that they'd won three out of four, so they aren't in too bad form.

As far as the goals go, they've been less prolific than their rivals - 40 scored - but their matches are still averaging 2.55 each time. Over 50% have had three goals or more and their last three on the road have all gone over.

Bet 4: Blackburn v Millwall (Under 2.5 goals) @ 1.66 (4/6)

We finish in the FA Cup as Blackburn meet Millwall in an FA Cup replay with the victor being rewarded with a semi-final clash at Wembley with Wigan. The match at the Den finished 0-0 on Sunday and given what's at stake for both of these Championship clubs, I expect another cagey affair.

Blackburn come into this game without a win in six, in fact their last victory was at the Emirates in the last 16 of this competition. Michael Appleton is the man in charge these days but they have shown little improvement under his stewardship and they've fired an incredible five blanks in their last half dozen matches.

Millwall are also struggling at the moment after looking like potential promotion challengers earlier in the campaign. Kenny Jackett's team have dropped to 17th in the league and they'll have to be careful or they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Like their opponents, goals have been an issue in recent weeks. The Lions haven't netted in 320 minutes of football and their last three have all gone under 2.5 goals.

This looks like a nailed on unders match to me and I'm very keen to snap up the 1.66 (4/6).
