World number one Novak Djokovic says he will have to be at his very best to try and beat seven-time champion Rafael Nadal in the French Open semi-finals.

Djokovic, who is 9/5 with bet365 to win his first title in Paris, expects to be pushed to the maximum by Nadal, who has only ever lost one match at the French Open. The Serb said after demolishing Tommy Haas in the last eight: "I need to be willing to and needing to play on top of my game throughout the whole match, because that's what it's going to take to win against him." Meanwhile, Nadal, who defeated Djokovic in four sets in the Paris final 12 months ago, is also readying himself for a battle royale. He added: "I know that I will play against the best player of the world. "I'm just trying to play my way, trying to find my rhythm and trying to play my best match. That's the only way to have a chance in the semi-finals."
