Snooker: Ronnie calm over Crucible bid
Ronnie O'Sullivan, 6/1 with bet365 to retain his title, has played down his chances of glory at the Snooker World Championship, which gets underway this weekend.
O'Sullivan, already a four-time world champion, has taken time away from the game in recent months, but will step back into the limelight at the Crucible later this week, getting the tournament started when he takes on Marcus Campbell. Having been away from the competitive spotlight since early November, O'Sullivan said: "It could be a car crash, it could be good. You just don't know. "If I'm cueing all right and feeling all right, then I should be a match for anyone, but who knows? "The World Championship is a one-off event and the form book usually goes out the window." Twelve months ago, O'Sullivan won his fourth world title the hard way, seeing off Peter Ebdon, Mark Williams, Neil Robertson, Matthew Stevens and finally Ali Carter.
