Rugby Union: Gatland in no rush to name Test line-up
British & Irish Lions head coach Warren Gatland has still to decide his line-up for the first Test against Australia on 22nd June.
Gatland has named a 23-man squad to face the Waratahs in Sydney on Saturday but insists that line-up will have no bearing on the players he picks for the opening match against the Wallabies in Brisbane. "We haven't even spoken about the first Test in terms of that. These players have got an opportunity on Saturday," he said. "We said to the players that there's an opportunity for the players on Saturday to stake claims but the Test team won't be selected until after Tuesday." Simon Zebo will make his debut in the fifth game of the tour less than a week after arriving in Australia from Houston. The Lions are 1/66 with bet365 to beat the Waratahs and 11/8 to win the first Test against Australia by between one and 12 points.
