Rugby Union: Cockerill questions dominance
Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill has warned his side that they will face a massive task when they try to defend their Aviva Premiership Grand Final title next season.
The Tigers, who are 10/1 with bet365 to win the 2013/14 Heineken Cup, have reached every one of the last nine Premiership Grand Finals, winning four times. However, Cockerill says that continuing that run of success becomes harder and harder each season, as the likes of Saracens, Harlequins and Northampton Saints up the ante. Cockerill said: "There are four, five, six sides who could have been good enough to win this competition, we're lucky enough to have done it, but Saints are a good side and could have won it. "Sarries, Quins, Gloucester, all those sides will push hard moving forward. Even the sides lower down the table will beat you on their day. I think the days of any side dominating for several years are gone."
