Rugby League: No axe to grind for Sinfield
Leeds star Kevin Sinfield insists he has nothing to prove ahead of the Rhinos' World Club Challenge meeting with Melbourne Storm on Friday.
Sinfield was awarded the Golden Boot in 2012, but the decision to hand the world's best player accolade to the England captain was criticised in Australia. The Rhinos star will come up against two men he beat to the honour on Friday, Storm pair Cameron Smith and Cooper Cronk, but Sinfield insists he has nothing to prove and is concentrating on helping Leeds secure the trophy for a second successive season. "You know, I'm not bothered at all," Sinfield told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "I've been asked the question a lot, but it's not about me. It's about Leeds. I just want to play as well as I can and do my job for the team. Hopefully, I'll do that and be successful with it." Leeds are priced at 7/4 with bet365 to beat the NRL champions, while the Storm are 4/9 to secure the win.
