Rugby League: Horne keen for Ellis return

Hull FC playmaker Richard Horne admits his side have been inconsistent this season and cannot wait for Gareth Ellis to return from injury.

The Airlie Birds are currently outside the play-off places but Horne is confident results will improve and believes Ellis will give the side a huge lift when he returns to fitness. "I think we can be pleased with some aspects of our start to the season. Some of the results we've recorded have been really encouraging, but we've let ourselves down in other weeks, and I guess the key quality we're looking for is consistency," said Horne, who can play at half-back or full-back. "Obviously having Gaz Ellis injured at this early stage is a big blow, as we knew he'd be a key player for us in 2013. But the silver lining is that he'll be pretty fresh for the latter stages of the season, and that could make a big difference."
