Romeu set for six-month lay-off
Chelsea's Spanish midfielder Oriol Romeu is not expected to play again this season after being forced to have a knee operation.
The 21-year-old former Barcelona star picked up the injury during Saturday's 3-1 win at Sunderland and did not travel with the rest of Rafa Benitez's squad to Japan where the Blues are preparing to play in the Club World Cup. Last season's Champions League winners can be backed at 1/2 with bet365 to beat Monterrey in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup while the Mexican side are available at 11/2 to win the match. Romeu, who has featured in 33 matches for Chelsea since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in August 2011, had his anterior cruciate reconstructed and his medial meniscus repaired in an operation on Monday and is expected to be sidelined for at least six months.
