Key relegation rivals all win on a terrible day for the Latics while Arsenal creep towards Champions League qualification with a slim win at Craven Cottage...

Wigan took a huge step back towards the Championship with a 2-0 defeat at West Ham today and Betfair customers once again make them odds-on to go down.

On what was a painful day for the Premier League 'minnows', relegation rivals Stoke, Sunderland and Norwich all won and the battle to beat the drop looks to be between the Latics and Aston Villa.

The Midlands club hold a three point lead over Wigan, but play Manchester United on Monday night and, at 13.0 for a win at Old Trafford, Premier League survival will most probably come down to the four games after that. Wigan, now trading at 1.72 to be relegated, have five games left to secure survival. Villa are 3.7 to be playing in the Championship next season.

Arsenal secured three points in their Champions League qualification mission but they put their fans through the ringer at Fulham.

The Cottagers had Steve Sidwell sent off after just 12 minutes but it took another 31 before Arsenal could break the deadlock, and they didn't add to the scoreline thereafter. On 90 minutes, however, the points belonged to the Gunners and they now trade at 1.26 to finish in the top four.

Everton look out of the fight after losing at Sunderland. A lone Stephane Sessegnon goal separated the two sides as the Black Cats leapt clear of relegation danger - Sunderland now trade at 23.0 to go down.

Elsewhere, Stoke and Norwich eased their relegation fears with wins over the doomed pair of QPR and Reading.

Newcastle are not quite clear of the bottom after they were held at West Brom, while Swansea and Southampton did what mid-table teams do at this time of the season - drew 0-0.
