Premier League Injuries: Wigan to miss Macca's sparkle
Callum McManaman, Chris Samba and Eden Hazard will all be big misses for their clubs on the final day of the season...
Callum McManaman - Wigan v Aston Villa (Sunday, 16:00)
Described as 'a real diamond of English football' by Roberto Martinez, Wigan's wing wonder won't get any further chance to sparkle this season. Just days after turning in a man-of-the-match performance in the FA Cup final, McManaman had to be stretchered off in the second half of Wigan's relegation-confirming defeat to Arsenal on Tuesday. Prior to that loss at the Emirates, Latics fans would have been dreaming of this match against Aston Villa becoming a survival showdown with the winner taking all. However, it now promises to be anti-climatic and a Villa side in decent form can take advantage of the Latics lacking their most creative force.
Best Bet: Back Aston Villa to win @ 3.7
Chris Samba - Liverpool v QPR (Sunday, 16:00)
Despite the deep pockets of Tony Fernandes, even a man with Harry Redknapp's Houdini reputation couldn't keep this disjointed bunch in the top flight this season. One of those who have had the finger firmly pointed at them is January signing Samba who, like many of his teammates, is reportedly on eye-popping amounts of money at Loftus Road. While his mercenary nature is debatable, without his towering presence in the heart of their defence, QPR are undeniably shakier. Knee trouble has kept Samba out of the last three games and he is a big doubt for this trip to Anfield. Liverpool are playing with confidence and Daniel Sturridge in particular will relish a run at veteran defender Clint Hill, who was embarrassed in the 3-0 defeat earlier in the season. QPR have scored just once in their last five games.
Recommended Bet: Back Liverpool to beat QPR 3-0 @ 9.4
Eden Hazard - Chelsea v Everton (Sunday, 16:00)
It was most unfortunate for Chelsea's Belgian baller to miss the Europa League final after shining brightest of the 'three amigos' in recent performances. One such lightning burst from Hazard against Aston Villa on Saturday ultimately proved too strenuous for an overused hamstring in this marathon season for Chelsea. With Juan Mata finally looking like his batteries were running dangerously low in midweek, Chelsea somehow dug out that Europa League triumph but will face another big task against Everton. The comparatively fresh Toffees have drawn their last three away games against top-seven rivals and will be looking to sign David Moyes off without a loss.
Recommended Bet: Back the draw @ 4.1
