Premier League Injuries: Dzeko to profit for Man City
Hal Robson-Kanu, Tim Krul and Sergio Aguero will all be sorely missed by their clubs this weekend...
Tim Krul - West Brom v Newcastle (Saturday, 15:00)
After such a commanding season in Newcastle's net last time around, it's been a completely different story for Krul in 2012/13. The towering Dutchman has suffered a succession of injuries, keeping him out for two sizeable chunks of their campaign already and now he looks set to miss the run-in after dislocating a shoulder in the Magpies' darkest hour against Sunderland on Sunday. Steve Harper and young keeper Rob Elliot have both deputised, though it's the latter who has been installed as the second choice as the season has gone on. This instability in the net as well as countless other defensive injuries has certainly played a role in Newcastle's lacklustre showing this season.
Recommended Bet: Back Romelu Lukaku to score @ 2.7
Hal Robson-Kanu - Norwich v Reading (Saturday, 15:00)
It's not over until the fat lady sings, so the saying goes. Well, she's certainly going through her warm-up exercises at the Madejski Stadium despite Nigel Adkins pocketing his first point as Reading's boss against Liverpool. But even in that rot-stopping draw, Adkins had young goalkeeper Alex McCarthy to thank for keeping Liverpool at bay with one of the most notable goalkeeping performances of the season. It's a stark lack of goals at the other end which has precipitated this dire run that has taken them to the bottom of the pile. The Royals have managed to notch just three in their last seven, one of which was an own goal, so they can scarcely do without the scorer of the other two, Robson-Kanu, ahead of this trip to Norwich.
Recommended Bet: Back Norwich to keep a clean sheet @ 2.58
Sergio Aguero - Tottenham v Man City (Sunday, 13:30, Sky Sports 1)
The fact that Aguero escaped punishment for his dreadful tackle on David Luiz at Wembley means he's lucky not to have been kept out of this mammoth game with Spurs serving a ban. As it is, karma seems to have caught up with the Argentine and now Aguero is a major doubt for this trip to White Hart Lane after coming off against Wigan because of a hamstring problem. Still, where one door closes, another one opens, especially in football. After starting the midweek game on the bench, Edin Dzeko will almost certainly get the nod to partner Carlos Tevez in north London. The big Bosnian has a frightening record against Spurs, scoring five Premier League goals against the Lilywhites, banging in four in one go at the Lane last season.
Best Bet: Back Edin Dzeko to score @ 3.75
