Opta Stats: Manchester United v Reading

18Feb 2013

FA Cup

It's an all Premier League clash in the last fixture of the FA Cup fifth round, as Manchester United host Reading. Opta are on hand to crunch the numbers.

The last two times Man Utd have beaten Fulham at Old Trafford in the FA Cup (as they did in the last round), they have gone on to win it (2004, 1999).

United are 3.3 to win the cup.

Manchester United are unbeaten in 12 matches in all competitions against Reading (W8 D4).

They are 1.28 to beat Reading on Monday night.

The last time they lost to Reading was in the FA Cup in January 1927.

A Reading win is priced at 12.5.

The Red Devils have won 15 of their last 19 home ties in the FA Cup (D2 L2).

United are rated at 1.44 to be leading by half-time.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side have conceded just one goal in their last five FA Cup matches at Old Trafford.

They can be backed at 2.28 to keep a clean sheet.

This is the third time in the last four years that Reading have reached the FA Cup fifth round; and only the eighth time in their history. On each of the last two  appearances, they have progressed to the last eight.

Reading are 7.6 to qualify.

Only once in the last 12 occasions that Reading have drawn against opponents from the same division in the FA Cup have they progressed to the next round.

Manchester United are priced at just 1.12 to qualify.

Wayne Rooney has scored three goals in his last two starts against Reading.

The England striker is 1.79 to score.

Adam Le Fondre has scored seven goals in his last seven appearances for Reading in all competitions. He also scored against Manchester United earlier this season.

Le Fondre is priced at 5.0 to score.

The clash between the two teams earlier in the season (in the Premier League) saw seven goals scored in the opening 35 minutes.

Over 6.5 goals can be backed at 9.0.
