Oldham will be no match for professional Everton

FA Cup

Oldham have claimed one big Merseyside scalp in the FA Cup this year but Lee Dixon - who nailed a 11.0 winner last weekend and put up two winning bets in midweek - fancies Everton to get the better of this Saturday evening clash

Oldham produced the result of the round last time out but I don't see lightning striking twice at Boundary Park and will be backing Everton to go through with minimum fuss on Saturday evening.

The home side have lost manager Paul Dickov since that famous 3-2 defeat of Liverpool and there's simply too much uncertainty about them to fancy an upset against a strong and organised Everton outfit.

Paul will be with us in the ITV studio and it will be interesting to hear what he has to say about the setup at Oldham and what happened in his time at the club.

Boundary Park was bouncing for the Liverpool game and while we're guaranteed a feverish atmosphere I expect Everton, who have five wins and two draws from their last seven away games, to silence the crowd relatively early.

I'm backing the Toffees to win with ease on Saturday - with a win to nil my preferred bet - but I also like them in the tournament winner market where they are 8.6 fifth favourites. Unlike some other managers David Moyes has always valued the FA Cup - they were losing finalists in 2009 don't forget - and generally sends out a strong team for every tie. They have the ability to go deep in this year's competition and I always fancy them to get a result in a one-off match against any English club. A win here, followed by a good draw and they'll have one foot in the semi-finals.

Brendan Rodgers got it wrong at Oldham last time round, playing a weak side and they were bullied into defeat. That won't happen to Everton who are a physical outfit and will give as good as they get. Moyes will surely name the strongest team he can, given this is a glorious opportunity to progress.

I was bullish about Liverpool's chances in the last round but while upsets can happen to any team, I just don't see it on Saturday night. Although Oldham won last weekend their general form has been woeful and I have to back Premier League class to progress at the expense of relegation-threatened League One opposition.
