No joy for Reds at the Etihad

After yesterday's winning treble, Andrew Hughes is backing Manchester City to beat Liverpool and land a Sunday cross-sport multiple.

Betfair now gives you the facility to mix and match your multiples across a huge range of sports and markets with the easy-to-use betslip and so each weekend I've been  putting together a cross-sport treble with the aim of showing the way to maximise your profits.

Bet 1: Back Manchester City to beat Liverpool at 1.9

Manchester City have been grinding out the points without looking that convincing as they struggle to stay in touch with their city neighbours at the top of the  Premier League. Eight wins in their last ten is solid form, but it has been built on a mean defence rather than the irresistible creativity that carried them to the  title last year.

Their poor record against Liverpool - just two wins in their last seventeen meetings - and their less than fluent displays suggest that the visitors might be able to  get something from this game. But the Reds are not yet the finished article. They can bully teams from the other end of the table, but struggle to beat the best.

Liverpool will have their moments, but City tend not to drop too many points at home and even without Mario Balotelli, they have enough attacking options to overcome  their visitors.

Bet 2: Back Harlequins to beat Ospreys at 1.85

Ospreys do have some cause for optimism ahead of their LV= Cup clash with Harlequins. The Welsh side have met Harlequins on three previous occasions and have emerged  victorious from all three encounters.

But everything else points to this being a difficult afternoon for the home side. Both sides are missing players due to the Six Nations, but Ospreys are particularly  badly affected, with nine players on senior international duty and seven away with the Welsh Under-20 side.

Their form is also a concern. After their draw with Leicester ended any lingering Heineken Cup hopes, they lost to both Treviso and Newport Gwent Dragons. By contrast,  Quins travel to Bridgend on the back of three consecutive wins. Back the English side to prevail and secure home advantage in the semi-finals.

Bet 3: Back Sizing Europe to win Tied Cottage Chase at 1.16

Sizing Europe won this Grade Two race last year en route to Cheltenham and Henry de Bromhead's eleven-year-old shouldn't have too much difficulty in brushing aside  today's opposition at Punchestown.

He showed his versatility when stepping up to two-and-a-half miles for his first two outings this season, but had no trouble when dropping back to two miles for the  Dial-A-Bet Chase at Christmas.

Blazing Tempo and Foildubh have bits and pieces of form, but neither are in the same class as the favourite and this final outing before the Festival should be a  Sunday stroll for Sizing Europe.
