No club bigger, says Sturridge
Daniel Sturridge has spiced up Sunday's Premier League showdown against bitter rivals Manchester United by insisting "there is no bigger club than Liverpool".
Brendan Rodgers' men make the short trip across the East Lancs Road looking for a first win in all competitions against Sir Alex Ferguson's side at Old Trafford since March 2009. It will be new signing Sturridge's first taste of the intense rivalry between the two north-west giants and the 23-year-old will be desperate to start having scored on his debut against Mansfield in the FA Cup. "It is the biggest club I have ever played for," the 23-year-old former Manchester City and Chelsea striker told his new club's official website. "In the Premier League, there is no bigger club than Liverpool." The Merseysiders, currently in eighth position in the table, trail leaders United by 21 points and can be backed at 15/2 to secure a Premier League top-four finish. United are the overwhelming 1/3 favourites in the outright betting to dethrone local rivals Manchester City and win a record 20th domestic title.
