New world number two Andy Murray has vowed to try and improve his serve for the tough clay court season on the horizon.

Murray struggled with his serve before prevailing in a tough Miami Masters final against David Ferrer, and the US Open champion was not totally satisfied with his display. He told Sky Sports: "I served poorly. If I'd served better I could have made it easier and that's something I need to do better in the clay court season. "This week I did a lot of things well, but I need to serve better. It's easier to return on clay, so it's even more important to serve well." Murray is eager to mount a bid for glory at the French Open, which starts in late May, and is 10/1 with bet365 to be crowned champion on the Parisian clay. His best showing at Roland Garros was a semi-final appearance in 2011, when his run was ended in straight sets by seven-time champion Rafael Nadal.
