Martinez refuses to give up

England - Premier League

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez, whose side are 1/4 with bet365 to be relegated, says the Latics will not give up on their attempts to secure Premier League survival.

A 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Swansea City has left Wigan three points adrift of safety with just two games to play, but Martinez has refused to give up hope ahead of crucial clashes with Arsenal and Aston Villa. He told reporters after a damaging loss to the Swans: "The gap is still only three points and it's something that we have to address. There are six points left to fight for. "We're not going to throw the towel in now - we've never done it before and we won't be doing it now." This weekend, Wigan turn their attention to a first-ever FA Cup final when they face Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday, with the Latics having lost their last seven meetings with the Citizens without scoring a goal.
