Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has a host of injury problems as he steps up his preparations for this weekend's clash against Arsenal.

Adrian Lopez could be out for two months with a hamstring tear, while Ben Watson (broken leg), Ryo Miyaichi (ankle) and Albert Crusat (knee) are all on the long-term injury list. James McCarthy, Gary Caldwell, Antolin Alcaraz and Ivan Ramis are facing a race to make themselves available for the visit of the north Londoners to the DW Stadium for a game Wigan, 11/8 with bet365 to be relegated this season, are 16/1 to win 1-0. Martinez said: "When you're coping with seven or eight players missing, very important players and four in the same position, that's quite unique. "But I've been very pleased with the rest of the squad. I've been looking at all the games and, apart from the first half against Norwich, we've been competitive and have shown a good level."
