Lyon stand in Spurs way

Spurs will have to play French side Lyon in the last 32 of the Europa League while Liverpool face the 2008 winners Zenit St Petersburg.

Last season's Champions League winners Chelsea play Sparta Prague and Newcastle United will come up against the Ukrainian side Metalist Kharkiv. Spurs, 18/1 to win this season's Europa League, need to get past a Lyon side that finished fourth in the French League last term. They won seven successive domestic titles between 2002 and 2008 and have been Champions League regulars in the last decade.
