Leeds to continue recent good form

1Dec 2012

Premier League

It's two wins on the bounce for Leeds and Jamie Dickenson is backing them to make it three when they travel to Huddersfield in an early afternoon kick-off...

Huddersfield v Leeds

Leeds - boosted by a turn of good form since their new owners took charge - make the short trip to Huddersfield for the West Yorkshire derby looking to record their third straight win.

These local rivals didn't meet in the league for nearly 20 years before three successive seasons of League One fixtures rekindled the rivalry. Now both Huddersfield and Leeds are in the Championship, and each side will be keen to show their supremacy. Ex-Whites manager Simon Grayson and players Jermain Beckford and Adam Clayton add spice to this clash, but the Terriers are without a win in three games.

Leeds turned around a dire run of three straight defeats with back-to-back wins over high-flying Crystal Palace and Huddersfield, with the club in buoyant mood after their protracted takeover by GFH Capital was completed last week. Elland Road boss Neil Warnock should be given more wiggle room in the January transfer window to help form an assault on promotion, but for now his side could just do with keeping up their win streak. Striker Luciano Becchio will be the main goal threat, with two strikes in his last two outings.

Leeds are quite long in the match odds market, so perhaps add them in an accumulator with a safety bet for the away side in the Draw No Bet market offering some insurance at 2.0.

Millwall v Charlton

In-form sides Millwall and Charlton meet at the Den, with Lions boss Kenny Jackett hoping his team can edge their South London rivals.

With Crystal Palace losing at the weekend, Millwall took over as the Championship's team to beat having gone 12 games unbeaten. Four wins on the bounce has taken the Lions up to fifth, having toiled at the bottom during the opening months of the season. The last fixture between the Bermondsey outfit and Charlton saw the Addicks thrashed 4-0, although this match is likely to be a lot closer than that.

Charlton are in good form themselves, with Chris Powell's side racking up four wins from five. That run was instigated by a frantic 5-4 victory over league leaders Cardiff, and the promoted club have shown they are no pushovers in this division by currently sitting in 13th. Ex-Stoke hitman Ricardo Fuller and former Leicester striker Yann Kermorgant both scored last time out against Peterborough, and should keep their places against Millwall.

Both sides are on good runs and this should make for an exciting encounter, and with goals coming easily for Millwall and Charlton I'll be backing both teams to score at 1.65.
