Lactics no match for Liverpool
Andrew Hughes thinks Liverpool can beat a struggling Oldham side on Sunday and help land a cross-sport multiple in the process.
Betfair now gives you the facility to mix and match your multiples across a huge range of sports and markets with the easy-to-use betslip and so each weekend I've been putting together two cross-sport trebles with the aim of showing the way to maximise your profits.
Bet 1: Back Liverpool to beat Oldham at 1.2
Liverpool struggled at times against Mansfield in the last round of the Cup, so there may be some hope for the home fans on Sunday. But the Reds have too much quality to be troubled by an Oldham team on a terrible run of form.
The Lactics have picked up just one point from their last twenty-four, are on the verge of being sucked into the relegation zone and have recently shed three members of their coaching staff, including assistant manager Gerry Taggart.
Liverpool are likely to make a few changes ahead of crucial Premier League games against Arsenal and Manchester City, but they will have Luis Suarez on the bench should they need any extra firepower. They won't repeat the 5-1 beating they gave Oldham at Anfield last year, but an away win is the best bet.
Bet 2: Back Worcester Warriors to beat London Irish at 4.0
Worcester have not won at the Madjeski Stadium since 2005 and London Irish have not lost there in the LV Cup since 2010, so on paper, the Exiles deserve to be short-priced favourites for this Sunday clash.
But I think this game will be a lot closer than the market suggests. Both teams are top of their Pools and have a great chance of making the semi-finals, particularly as their final games will be against teams stripped of their Six Nations players.
Last time these teams met, Worcester ran out 35-11 winners in a dominant display and they currently sit ten points ahead of the Exiles in the Aviva Premiership. I think the Warriors can sneak this and they should be backed in the Match Odds marketat 4.0.
Bet 3: Back Hurricane Fly to win Irish Champion Hurdle at 1.28
Hurricane Fly is a short-price to win the Irish Champion Hurdle on Sunday and justifiably so. His only defeat in three years came at Cheltenham last year and this season he's won on both of his outings.
His only serious opposition will come from another former Champion Hurdler, Binocular, but Nicky Henderson's nine-year-old is not sure to be at his peak for this, having been away from the racetrack for ten months. In any case, Hurricane Fly has beaten him on both the occasions they've met. Back Willie Mullins' superstar to add another win to his collection before heading for Cheltenham.
Total Odds for this multiple: 6.14 Remember, multiple prices are based on our Fixed Odds product, so any winnings are exempt from commission.
