Horse Racing: Walsh targets history at Aintree

4Apr 2013

Katie Walsh believes that she can go two better than last year and become the first female jockey to win the Grand National.

Walsh finished in third place on Seabass 12 months ago and has high hopes of triumphing at Aintree on Saturday, with her mount 9/1 with bet365 to win the National Hunt showpiece this time around. She said: "I would be really happy if he gives me the same sort of run round that we got last year. He's an exciting horse and I'm very happy to be aboard. "Of course I'm hopeful of a big run, but in this race it's all about jumping from fence to fence and hoping that all is well towards the end. "I think he has come on a lot throughout the season and we are all very hopeful of a very big run from him." Last year Seabass finished five lengths behind eventual winner Neptune Collonges, who edged out Sunnyhillboy by a nose.
