Horse Racing: Toronado backed for Guineas glory

Richard Hannon Junior believes Toronado has every chance of winning Saturday's first Classic of the year - the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.

Dawn Approach, 6/4 with bet365 to win the 2000 Guineas, is expected to be Toronado's main challenger, although Cristoforo Colombo (7/1) is also expected to be among the leaders. However, Hannon thinks Toronado is on a par with the great competitor Canford Cliffs. He said: "Toronado has been working very well. He and Canford are very much on a par. As a three-year-old he is quite as impressive as him. "He relaxes in his races so well and, if he gets the trip, as we believe he will, he has every chance."
