Home and Away: Slavia looking to bounce back in style
Jonno Turner looks to action on the continent as he aims to pick two winning selections to kick start the week...
We're off to the Czech Republic for our first pick of the week - as Slavia Prague look to bounce back from a 3-1 derby loss to rivals Sparta last week, by getting back to winning ways as they welcome Slovacko to the Eden Arena.
The hosts currently sit ninth in the Gambrinus Liga - and will be boosted by an impressive home record which has seen them undefeated in 11 of their last 13 on their own patch.
Petr Rada's side line up for this one having lost just one of their last half a dozen home and away, and will be keen to make the most of this game in hand in order to pile the pressure on Visocina Jihlava in eighth.
Four goals scored in their last three in front of their own fans shows that the Cervenobili are more than capable of troubling the defence of their guests, and they will be looking to breach the rearguard of their visitors - who are in the midst of a miserable run.
Slovacko go into this clash sitting 11th in the table - and will be nervously looking over their shoulder, as they are currently just three points clear of the dropzone.
Svatopluk Habanec's side have won just one from their last nine league outings, and only a single goal scored in their most recent four games underlines the extent of the barren spell down at the Mestsky Stadion.
And their form on the road suggests that they may struggle in this one - with the Uherske Hradiste side taking maximum points just once in nine games on their travels.
Bet 1: Slavia Prague (HOME) @ 1.7
Switching our attentions to Iceland now - and as the start of the new Urvalsdeild campaign draws closer, four clubs are contesting the semi finals of the League Cup.
Stjarnan travle to Valur in positive form this season, and just one loss from their last four on the road will have Logi Olafsson's side eyeing a place in the final of this competition.
The Gardabaer side have certainly been amongst the goals following the winter break - and 12 notches in four away from Stjornuvollur is a decent return at any level.
That makes three wins from four games for the Blues - a run that they will be keen to maintain as they approach the new league season.
Hosts Valur line up for this one in decent form themselves, having won their last six consecutive games in this competition.
But Magnus Gylfason's side have managed just two clean sheets in their previous 12 games at the Hlidarendi, and I think that could cost them as they face a side brimming with attacking confidence.
Stjarnan have won the last three meetings between these two sides, and I'm backing the visitors to book their place in the final tonight.
Bet 2: Stjarnan (AWAY) @ 2
