Home and Away: Ferencvaros to take one step closer to silverware this evening
The midweek footballing landscape is rather barren at the moment with an international break on the horizon, but that's not to say that there isn't value out there if you look hard enough - and Jonno Turner has done his best to pick two selections to do the business here.
We're off to Hungary for our first selection of the day - and it's the League Cup semi final first leg clash between Egri and Ferencvaros.
The hosts are in miserable form at the moment, and have lost three of their last four at the snappily-named Szentmarjay Tibor Varosi Stadion, which will have knocked confidence in the home camp.
That form leaves them 15th in the NB I table, occupying the last relegation place, and Antal Simon's side are a whopping nine points from safety with the end of the season in sight.
The Eger-based side, who were promoted to the top tier last campaign after securing the NB II East title, look destined to return to that division, and eight goals conceded in their last four on their own patch suggests that they have weaknesses in defence which could cost them in this clash.
Visitors Ferencvaros sit fifth in the table ahead of this clash - and will be keen to secure a positive result in this first leg tie in order to get one foot into the final.
Ricardo Moniz' side have lost just one of their last 10 outings, and will be desperate to move on step closer to securing their first piece of silverware since 2004 this evening.
And three unbeaten on the road in this competition suggests that they are likely to attack their hosts in this tie, in an attempt to gain an advantage ahead of the second leg.
The away side secured a 2-2 draw in their last visit to Eger, and I fancy them to come out of this clash unscathed too - with their momentum propelling them to victory.
Bet 1: Ferencvaros (AWAY) @ 1.8
Switching our attentions to action in Belgium now, and it's a relegation six pointer, as bottom side Sint-Niklaas host KSV Oudenaarde in the Second Division.
The hosts go into this clash propping up the rest of the table, but are in relatively bright form on their own patch - and have lost just one of their last five in front of their own fans.
Robby Kereman's side have two games in hand on the sides around them down the bottom, and three points in this clash would be a major boost to their survival campaign.
And three games without a loss against their guests will give the home side real confidence that they can take a maximum return from this encounter.
Visitors Oudenaarde travel to the Stedelijk Sportcentrum Meesterstraat, in truly miserable form, having lost nine of their last 10 - and without a win in 11.
And the East Flanders side have been just as bad away from the Burgemeester Thienpontstadion, losing six of their last seven and conceding 13 goals in that time.
Stefan Leleu's charges clearly have severe defensive issues at the moment, and I reckon that could play a key part in the outcome of this clash, with their hosts high in momentum.
Sint-Niklaas could leapfrog their opponents with a win here, and recent form suggests that they won't waste that chance.
Bet 2: Sint-Niklaas (HOME) @ 2.3
