Hodgson adds Lescott to England squad
England manager Roy Hodgson has added Joleon Lescott to his squad for this month's World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro while Tottenham duo Aaron Lennon and Michael Dawson have dropped out after picking up injuries.
Lennon missed Sunday's 1-0 home defeat to Fulham with the groin injury he sustained in the Europa League clash at Inter Milan, while Dawson was taken off at half-time against the Cottagers with a hamstring strain. "Lennon won't be able to make it. He has been struggling a lot with injuries. He is on the brink of rupturing his muscle," confirmed Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas. "Dawson felt his hamstring muscle going in the first half. If we had brought him on in the second half we would be risking him a major injury." England play San Marino on Friday, before travelling to Montenegro four days later for a crunch Group H match. England are 6/1 with bet365 to thrash San Marino 6-0 and 20/1 to win next year's World Cup in Brazil.
