Golf: McDowell hopes for high scores
Graeme McDowell, 22/1 with bet365 to win the tournament, hopes that tough conditions at the US Open will aid his bid for glory.
McDowell won the 2010 US Open at Pebble Beach and similar conditions, the Northern Irishman believes, will boost his bid for a second Major title. "I don't think it's going to be a low-scoring US Open," McDowell told reporters. "I hope it's not going to be a low-scoring US Open. "Everyone is saying that it's going to be 62's and 63's on this golf course, which I kind of disagree with at the minute. I think they're underestimating it. "I think there's 10 or 11 holes on this course that are as tough as any US Open I've seen." McDowell's victory at Pebble Beach three years ago came when he finished on even par over the four rounds, edging out Frenchman Gregory Havret by one shot.
