Golf: Injured Clarke to miss Masters
Darren Clarke has been forced to withdraw from this week's US Masters because of a hamstring injury.
The 44-year-old, who won the Open Championship two years ago, picked up the injury when playing tennis with his children in the Bahamas last month. He said: "It is with deep regret that I will not be able to play at Augusta this year. Playing in the Masters is one of golf's greatest pleasures and I am very disappointed to be missing out. "It was just one of those freak injuries which is really disappointing. Understandably, I am absolutely gutted not to be there but I hope to be fit enough to be back in action in the Ballantine's Championship on The European Tour in a couple of weeks' time." Clarke has endured a miserable time since winning the 2011 Open at Sandwich, failing to secure a top-ten finish on the European Tour last year. Tiger Woods is 7/2 with bet365 to win the 2013 US Masters while Bubba Watson is 40/1 to clinch the Green Jacket for a second successive year.
