Goals to rain in Spain

Tonight's Spanish action comes at Rayo Vallecano as they host Getafe in what Paul Robinson believes will turn out to be a bit of a goal fest, despite the Betfair markets having under 2.5 goals at odds-on.

It's been a slow start to 2013 but fixtures have been thin on the ground for the most part. They begin to pick up now and I'm confident of getting us back into profit for the year.

Rayo Vallecano are up to ninth after completing back to back wins before Christmas. The impressive victories over Valencia and Levante took them to 25 points for the campaign and they are now only five points short of the Europa League places with a game in hand.

Paco Jémez has turned the club around since he was appointed and while they can be a touch inconsistent, they know how to win. They also know how to lose though and this is illustrated by the fact that they've only drawn once all year. A reason for that could be that they have shipped 32 goals, which is the third worst defensive record in the division. Four of their last six at home have gone over 2.5 goals, with two going over 4.5, including the 3-2 thriller against Celta de Vigo.

Getafe are one place and one point behind tonight's opponents and they will also have one eye on European qualification. Luis García Plaza's men went into the winter break on the back of a disappointing 4-2 defeat at Valencia, however before that they'd gone unbeaten in five, winning three of them.

The Dark Blues have conceded a fair few themselves thus far - 25 to be exact - and they have kept only two clean sheets on the road all season. They have managed to score in every game bar one though and they've netted twice in three of their last five away from Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

Looking at the two sides I think there is more chance that the match will go over 2.5 than under 2.5, so with the latter trading at around the 1.86 mark, I have to make it my lay of the day.
