France to intensify Uruguay's problems
With further international friendlies taking place this week, Christian Crowther digs out a few tips to go with them...
Given the minuscule population of the Principality of Liechtenstein, they deserve credit at least for being the best-ranked team of Europe's true minnows. This is mainly because - although they lose nearly every game to nil similarly to the likes of Andorra - Liechtenstein tend to ship goals in ones and twos, only getting steamrollered by Europe's finest. Meanwhile Poland's form has been indifferent, losing three games in four before a routine 5-0 win over San Marino in March. Given the closeness in proximity to their qualifier against Moldova, which is three days later, the temptation to rest their big guns will be there too. Three of Liechtenstein's last five defeats came by a 0-2 margin.
Recommended Bet: Back Poland to win 2-0 @ 7.2
Uruguay v France, Wednesday 20:00, Match Odds: Uruguay 2.3, France 3.6, The Draw 3.35
Despite boasting a squad peppered with players plying their trades in Europe's best leagues, Liverpool's Luis Suarez among them, La Celeste have been busy writing themselves out of qualifying contention for next year's World Cup in neighbouring Brazil. Uruguay are enveloped in a cloud at present, only winning twice in their last 13 outings across the board. France's own form has been a little patchy, though defeats to Germany and Spain in recent times are excusable. With neither side finding the net with any degree of prolificity in recent times and going on the stalemate they produced in their last encounter last August, a goal-fest feels unlikely. France do however prosper in away international friendlies. Les Bleus are unbeaten away from French soil since August 2010 on the international scene (ignoring a neutral game with Spain at Euro 2012), beating England, Germany and most recently Italy in that run.
Best Bet: Back France to beat Uruguay @ 3.6
Other Recommended Bet: Back Under 2.5 goals @ 1.63
Hungary v Kuwait, Thursday 19:30, Betfair Live Video, Match Odds: Hungary 1.3, Kuwait 13.5, The Draw 5.5
Despite drawing successive games in their World Cup qualifying group, the Hungarians are still placed well in Group D behind the Netherlands to qualify for Brazil. Drawing home internationals is another speciality for Hungary, who've managed to finish on level terms in three of their last four friendlies in front of their fans. Bulgaria, Israel and Republic of Ireland all left Hungarian soil after scoring draws. And although Kuwait missed out on making the final qualifying cut in Asia's World Cup process, their recent form does enough to suggest that they can grab something. The Kuwaitis have won four of their last six internationals, losing just once.
Recommended Bet: Back the draw @ 5.5
