Ferguson praises all-round effort

England - Premier League

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has rubbished suggestions that his side have become over-reliant on summer signing Robin van Persie.

Van Persie has scored 21 times since his arrival from Arsenal and has found the net in nine of his last ten games, with the Dutchman 4/5 with bet365 to be the leading scorer in the Premier League this season. However, Ferguson is more than happy with the goalscoring return from his squad in general and has dismissed claims that United are something of a one-man team. Ferguson told reporters: "Yes, Robin is top scorer in the Premier League and has 21 goals in all competitions for us, but Javier Hernandez has weighed in with 12 while Wayne Rooney is on 10. "Two defenders - Patrice Evra and Jonny Evans - have chipped in eight goals between them, so it doesn't stand up to see us as a one-man team."
