The whole of Europe let out a gasp when Group B was finally known in this years European Championships. The term "group of death" was first coined during the 1986 World Cup in Mexico when West Germany, Denmark, Uruguay and Scotland were drawn together. Every tournament seems to throw up a really tough group and this year Group B at Euro 2012 is that group.

Germany and Denmark are once again drawn in a "group of death" but this time along with The Netherlands and Portugal. So we have three potential winners of the event but it would be foolish to eliminate Denmark in our opinion from the potental list of winners. Remember how they won Euro 92 after failing to even qualify. Denmark are a top class side who are more than capable of coming out top of the group after only three matches.

The opening games are on the 9th June and Netherlands play Denmark while Germany play Portugal. The Netherlands were crushed after their World Cup Final defeat to Spain and long for another major international trophy again. Portugal have been the nearly men of European football and their big chance came in Euro 2004 as the host nation when they reached the final against little fancied Greece but were ultimately defeated. Whatever happens, expect fireworks in Group B at this years tournament.
