Eindhoven's misery to continue

14Dec 2012

FC Eindhoven are odds-on for their clash with AGOVW in the Dutch Jupiler League this evening but with no win in five for the home side, Paul Robinson thinks they represent a value lay.

Eindhoven finished third last year but they are having a terrible time of things this time around. John Lammers was the new man put in charge for this season and after 15 games they are second from bottom with just 12 points. They are on a run of five without a victory and have won only three times this term.

At the Jan Louwers Stadion, the Blue-Whites have lost five out of eight, losing their last two in a row. The 4-1 thrashing they received from the Go Ahead Eagles was bad enough, but the 2-1 loss to the lowly Almere City last time out was particularly poor.

AGOVW haven't fared much better themselves, yet they were expected to struggle. After 15 matches they are in 14th with 14 points, so a defeat tonight would see them drop below Eindhoven. Defeats on the road have been scarce this year though, which is in stark contrast to the 2011/12 season where they lost a staggering 15 out of 17 away from home.

Andries Ulderink has made the Apeldorn based side much harder to beat and the loss to Dordecht in their last away match was their first since September. They have also kept three clean sheets on their travels this term, which is an impressive accomplishment given that this is a relatively high scoring league.

FC Eindhoven don't merit their current odds on recent form. In a division where shocks happen on a regular basis, at around the 1.89 mark, I have to make Eindhoven my lay of the day.
