Djokovic to face Ferrer
Novak Djokovic, who is 8/11 to win the Australian Open with bet365, said he was relishing a "long one" against David Ferrer in the semi-finals of the 2013 Australian Open.
The top seed and defending champion showed no signs of a hangover from his five-set marathon against Stanislas Wawrinka to beat Tomas Berdych 6-1 4-6 6-1 6-4 in the last eight at Melbourne Park. Victory against the fifth-seeded Czech means the Serbian superstar will retain the number one ranking even if he does not win the title Down Under on Sunday. He will now take on Spanish world number five Ferrer, who earlier recovered from a two-set deficit to beat countryman Nicolas Almagro in another breathless encounter. Djokovic has beaten Ferrer five times on the spin - including wins at the recent US Open and at the quarter-finals stage of this competition last year - but admitted he would not have an easy route to the final. He said: "He is one of the most respected guys on the tour because he never gives up. He is one of the fittest guys around and I am expecting a long one." Djokovic is priced 1/8 in the bet365 match betting and Ferrer can be backed at 5/1.
