Darts: Taylor avoids puncture by the Thorn
Phil Taylor remains on target for a 16th title in this year's PDC World Darts Championship after coming through 4-0 against Robert Thornton.
The Thorn was a tricky third round opponent for Taylor, who is now 2/1 with bet365 to lift the crown on 1st January, having defeated the Power twice this season. Taylor signalled his intention to add to his 15 titles, dropping only three legs to end with an average of 97.18, recording checkouts of 131 and 105 in the process. The Power next takes on Andy Hamilton in an intriguing last-eight clash. The pair met in a thriller at the Players Championship Finals last month, when the Hammer was 9-7 up in a race to 10 but lost out to the eventual winner of the tournament.
