Cricket: Shorter runs working for Finn
England fast bowler Steven Finn goes into the Test series in New Zealand in good heart, having adopted a fresh approach during the recent one-day internationals.
Finn, who is 11/4 with bet365 to be England's leading bowler in the series, shortened his run-up after suffering problems in kicking over the stumps in his delivery stride. That worked well in the ODIs and Finn is hoping for a similar result in the Tests, the first of which starts in Dunedin late on Tuesday evening UK time. "It felt good in the one-day series," Finn said. "We'll see what happens in the Test matches. "It is geared towards being more consistent, being able to bowl for longer spells and longer in the day and keep myself as fresh as possible. "I think it allows me to be stronger at the crease, in a better position. I felt like I got more bounce off the shorter run."
