Cricket: Key duo named in Champions Trophy squad
Graeme Swann and Tim Bresnan have recovered from their elbow injuries and been included in England's 15-man squad for next month's Champions Trophy.
Swann missed the Test series in New Zealand so that he could have surgery on the problem but featured in Nottinghamshire's recent County Championship defeat to Durham, while Bresnan has returned to action with Yorkshire this season. Ravi Bopara has also earned a recall while Kent spinner James Tredwell is preferred to Samit Patel. Kevin Pietersen will play no part in the tournament because of a knee injury while wicketkeeper Craig Kieswetter misses out because of a fractured thumb. National selector Geoff Miller said: "We are fully aware that with the best eight sides in world cricket competing against each other we will need to play a very high standard of cricket over a three-week period to give ourselves a chance of winning the title." England are 9/2 with bet365 to win the Champions Trophy while Australia can be backed at 5/1.
