Cricket: England urged to improve
National selector Geoff Miller has called on England to improve on their performance at Lord's in the second Test against New Zealand at Headingley.
A superb bowling performance by Stuart Broad and James Anderson fired the hosts to a 170-run victory in the first of two Tests against the Black Caps. However, England's batting showed serious frailties in the match and Miller expects another stern examination in Leeds starting on Friday, with England 8/13 with bet365 to seal a 2-0 series triumph. "We are aware that there are still areas that we need to improve on and the players and coaches will be working hard to ensure we continue to get better as a side," Miller said. "New Zealand showed again that they are a dangerous side and we know we will need to produce another strong performance this week to secure a series victory." England have named an unchanged 12-man squad for the Headingley Test, with Ian Bell having recovered from flu and Graeme Swann also better after illness.
