Cricket: Anderson desperate to end trophy drought
Jimmy Anderson insists he is not interested in milestones and is focused only on helping England win the Champions Trophy this month.
The 30-year-old is level with Darren Gough's all-time national best of 234 wickets in one-day international cricket and could beat that record in the one-day match against New Zealand at Trent Bridge, which England are 8/13 with bet365 to win. However, Anderson is adamant that his focus is on helping England win a 50-over International Cricket Council global trophy for the first time in their history. England are 9/2 to win the Champions Trophy. He said: "It's going to be a big tournament for us. We've never won a 50-over ICC competition, so it's something we're looking to as a real challenge for us. "I'll try and keep taking wickets and let the milestones take care of themselves."
