Cleverley drops out of England squad
Tom Cleverley has failed to recover from the calf injury he sustained during Manchester United's 5-5 draw at West Brom and will miss England's friendlies against the Republic of Ireland and Brazil.
Roy Hodgson added Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell to his squad last week as cover for the 23-year-old, who joins Andy Carroll, Jack Wilshere and Steven Gerrard in missing the two matches. Rodwell, Michael Carrick and Frank Lampard, 6/1 with bet365 to open the scoring against the Republic of Ireland, are now the only three recognised central midfielders in Hodgson's squad. England are 11/2 to beat the Republic 2-0 before travelling to Brazil to play the 2014 World Cup hosts in Rio on 2nd June.
