Cautious Parkinson plays down Wembley chances

England - Capital One Cup

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson has played down his side's chances of winning this season's Capital One Cup even after their fantastic semi-final victory against Aston Villa.

The Bantams, tenth in the fourth tier of English football and 4/1 with bet365 to win promotion to League One this season, stunned a Villa side that is now 1/1 to be relegated from the Premier League, to set up a Wembley final against either Swansea City or Chelsea. However, despite knocking out Wigan Athletic, Arsenal and now Villa, Parkinson was cautious when asked about the chances of his side lifting the trophy, saying: "I think that's going a bit far - but to get to Wembley is great for us." Bradford won the first leg 3-1 a fortnight ago and set up a trip to Wembley by winning 4-3 on aggregate after losing 2-1 at Villa Park in the second clash.
