Carrick content despite lack of goals
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick insists he is happy to stay out of the limelight and let his team-mates take all the headlines.
The 31-year-old former Tottenham and West Ham United star has been impressive this season, even though he has scored just one goal - in the Champions League win against Galatasaray in September. However, Carrick says that, while the likes of Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are delivering the goods in front of goal, he won't get too down on himself. United, 1/50 with bet365 to win the Premier League title this season, remain 12 points clear at the top of the table and next face Norwich City, who beat them 1-0 at Carrow Road earlier in the campaign. United are 16/1 to gain revenge for that rare defeat by thrashing the Canaries 4-1 on Saturday. Carrick said: "Goals are not something I really think about to be honest. Of course I would like to score more, everybody would. "If I am playing a role in the team and I am not scoring then I am still happy with that. We are scoring enough goals as a team anyway and hopefully that continues."
