Big Saturday Multiple: Owls to heap more misery on struggling Rovers

Jonno Turner scours the English leagues for three value picks in his Big Saturday Multiple.

We're off to South Yorkshire for our first pick of the day - and it's a relegation six pointer, as Sheffield Wednesday welcome Blackburn Rovers to Hillsborough,  looking to build on their 2-1 defeat of local rivals Barnsley last week.

The Owls sit just one place outside of the drop zone going into this tie, and with limited opportunities to boost their points total, Dave Jones will be eyeing this  clash as a massive chance to secure a maximum return.

Just two losses from their last eight in front of their own fans suggests that the hosts are more than capable of sending their opponents back to Lancashire empty  handed, and, more recently, three unbeaten from four home and away points to something of a resurgence in S6.

Blackburn travel to Sheffield in desperate form, and caretaker manager Gary Bowyer has been tasked with engineering a turnaround at the back end of what has been a  disastrous season for Rovers.

The visitors have not won in 10 games ahead of this clash, and confidence will be low in the away camp following a 3-0 thrashing at Cardiff last time out.

To make matters worse, Rovers have lost four of their last five on the road - drawing the other - and have not even managed a single goal in that time, which  underlines just how poor they have been of late.

And Grzegorz Sandomierski is expected to line up in goal for the away side, with Paul Robinson absent through long-term illness.

Both of these sides have been off the pace in their fair share of outings this season, but the hosts are in better form ahead of this clash, and I think that they will  have too much for Blackburn here.

Bet 1: Sheffield Wednesday @ 2.15

Staying in Yorkshire now for our second selection - but dropping to the third tier - as Doncaster Rovers host an out of form Tranmere Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Brian Flynn's Donny side have moved into pole position in League One following nine unbeaten from their last 11 outings - and maintaining that consistency will be  integral if they are to secure automatic promotion back to the Championship.

The hosts have lost just one from nine on their own patch, and five clean sheets in that time suggests that they have the defensive strength to keep out their Wirral  opponents here.

Tranmere line up for this one in miserable form - having lost four from five - and that has seen Ronnie Moore's side drop out of the play-off places with the finish  line in sight.

The visitors have lost four on the bounce away from Prenton Park, and haven't scored a goal on the road since their 5-1 demolition of Colchester all the way back in  February, which will seem like a distant memory to the Tranmere faithful today.

And a 1-0 loss to League One whipping boys Portsmouth will have dented a few egos in the away camp - as they aim to stop a Doncaster side full of momentum.

Bet 2: Doncaster Rovers @ 1.95

Switching our focus to League Two now, as play-off hopefuls Exeter City look to arrest a slump which has seen them lose two on the bounce as they welcome Dagenham and  Redbridge to St James Park.

Paul Tisdale's side currently occupy seventh place in the table - and have a three point margin on nearest pretenders Fleetwood Town, and a game in hand.

But the Grecians must take full points from this clash in order to avoid the pressure piling up on them - and will be hoping to make the most of their home advantage.

Just one loss from their last half a dozen in front of their own fans suggests that the Devon side are well capable of doing that, and four clean sheets in that time  underlines their strength as a unit.

Visitors Dagenham travel west having taken just three points from a possible 15 of late - and boss Wayne Burnett has only seen his side pick up one win on the road  under his tenure.

The Essex club are 17th in the table, but still not safe of relegation - and will be hoping to move away from the drop zone before getting pulled into the mire.

But they would not have chosen this fixture to have to do that, and four goals conceded at home to Bristol Rovers on Monday highlighted their defensive struggles.

Daggers have only won two games on their travels since the new year, and I reckon this is a perfect tie for the hosts to get back to winning ways.

Bet 3: Exeter City @ 2.15
