Betfair to introduce iPoker Network service
Sportsbetting exchange and online casino operator Betfair has announced that it will launch its New Betfair Poker service later this month offering poker to players via the iPoker Network from software designer and supplier Playtech Limited.
London-based Betfair stated that its New Betfair Poker service will run alongside its Classic Betfair Poker offering, which will continue to be provided by Ongame Network Limited, in order to allow customers to enjoy a ‘rich poker playing experience on the two leading poker networks’.
“Our intention has always been to offer our customers a rewarding and varied poker experience,” said Sam Hobcraft, Gaming Director for Betfair.
“Launching New Betfair Poker on Playtech’s platform will help us to continue to achieve this goal. It’s a world-class product offering unique and innovative features. This coupled with Betfair’s renowned poker community and loyalty offerings will help us better retain our existing player base and attract a new audience to Betfair poker.”
Betfair revealed that the new service has been designed to offer customers enhanced tournament options, additional tables and more recreational players to compete against. It is also set to include the Speed Poker feature, which offers players more games with less waiting time between hands.
“New Betfair Poker will also feature new and unique promotions and a rewarding loyalty scheme with lucrative sign-up bonuses offered to new customers,” read a statement from Betfair.
The iPoker Network, which already offers casino and other gaming products to Betfair players, currently has six million customers and is the world’s fourth largest online poker platform in terms of active players.
“We’re delighted to announce Betfair’s migration to iPoker.com,” said Roei Gavish from Isle of Man-based Playtech.
“Our network continues to see positive development from both a liquidity and technological standpoint, which not only benefits a large operator like Betfair but also secures Playtech’s leadership in the poker business-to-business market.”
