Feyenoord vs PSV

Sunday 11:30

It's an early kick off in Rotterdam as league leaders PSV roll into town to try and preserve their spot at the top. This will surely be PSV's sternest test of the campaign so far as their hosts are yet to taste defeat in De Kuip.

Ronnie Koeman's Feyenoord team remain in the hunt in the Eredevisie and if they manage to beat the leaders this Sunday they would move within three points of the summit. Last week they suffered a painful away loss to relegation fighters Zwolle and missed their chance to move up the table but their home form has been rock solid with eight wins and three draws.

Their main threat comes from the big Italian striker Graziano Pelle, after an outstanding spell on loan from Parma his rights were acquired permanently in January. Last week he bagged three in the loss to Zwolle unfortunately the first was at the wrong end, he should be effective against PSV and if not then midfielder Lex Immers is another reliable supplier of goals. 'The Legion',  as the Feyenoord fans are known should have at least one opportunity to sing their wonderfully camp goal celebration cover of 'I will survive'.

PSV may only be top on goal difference by Sunday, they currently hold a three point advantage but their main rivals Ajax have a relatively straightforward home match against ADO Den Haag on Saturday. If so Dick Advocaat's side will need a decent away performance, they are unbeaten in four on the road and that run has included a couple of big wins but all those results were against lowly opposition.

The last time they faced a real force away was against Ajax and they got turned over. They very rarely keep a clean sheet but usually that doesn't matter as they are one of the most dangerous attacking teams in world football at the moment. They score more goals per game than Barcelona and have so many attackers to choose from it's very hard to prepare a defence to stop them.

Wijnaldun, Lens and Mertens are have started the last two games as a front three but Matavz and Narsingh are more than capable options. Advocaat is spoilt for choice. The classiest and most consistent of all his performers has to be Dries Mertens, the Belgian winger scores and supplies and was on the score sheet when PSV beat Feyenoord in the cup last month.

Feyenoord's unbeaten home record is in danger, as is PSV's lead at the top.

Standard Liège v KRC Genk

Sunday 17:00

More Jupiler league action this week and we focus on Genk making the short trip down to Liege to face Standard.

Sitting in third and fourth positions in the table it would take a catastrophic implosion for either of these teams to fail to make the Championship Play-offs. They now have four games remaining to try and improve their points total, half of which will be carried into the playoffs phase.

Standard should have the physical edge over their opponents on Sunday. Genk lost a hard fought match against Stuttgart on Thursday night that saw them bow out of the Europa league and although Standard did stay warm with a friendly in midweek they should be far more fresh for Sunday's showdown.

Genk have been poor on their travels this year and it won't help being fatigued, they may also be without their talismanic forward Jelle Vossen, his injury is clearing up and he trained on Friday but he's unlikely to start. His replacement would be Dutchman Glynor Pet, when given chances Pet has come in and done well but he can't replace Vossen's all round presence to the team.

Standard's home form at the Stade Maurice Dufranse is reliably unpredictable, they have followed wins by losses for their last six matches. They lost last week so this week they'll win? Yes, with Genk jaded and downhearted after their Europa League exit Standard should have the advantage. Nineteen-year-old Nigerian striker Imoh Ezekiel is making a name for himself and look for him to get on the score sheet for the 'Rouches'. Referring to the recent results between these two the likelihood is that this match will be low scoring but the home side should have enough to edge it.
