Benitez backs Torres defence

Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez has backed Fernando Torres for his defensive efforts since his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

Goals have not been forthcoming for the Spanish international, who has again come under criticism for his lack of guile in front of the target. Torres will next have an opportunity to end his poor run on Wednesday night, when Chelsea take on Nordsjaelland in the Champions League, with the Blues at 1/10 with bet365 to win the game at Stamford Bridge. Benitez believes Torres is putting the effort in and feels the goals will come soon. He said: "It's not just scoring goals. "We changed his position in corners, for example.
